To reduce your greenhouse emissions and energy consumption just follow these simple bits of green wisdom:
  • Turn off all light bulbs and electric devices when you are not using them.
  • When you are not using TV, DVD, videogames, microwaves, or other appliances, disconnect them. Even if they are off, they still consume energy.
  • Exchange your regular light bulbs for energy-saving bulbs.
  • Drive a hybrid or Diesel car. They consume 50% less fuel and give off half the amount of pollution as regular cars.
  • When buying wood products, make sure they are certified that the wood is not illegal.
  • Insulate your house with thermal protection to avoid excessive use (and waste) of air conditioning.
  • Try to reduce your overall consumption. Donít buy things you donít really need.
  • Promote ďrideĒ cultureóthe more people in the car, the less we all pollute.
  • Make sure your car tires are properly inflated; otherwise you could pollute 20% more.
  • If you have a regular boiler, exchange it for a tankless gas water heater. This way you consume less gas.
  • Wash your clothes with cold water so you can save gas and avoid atmosphere contamination.
  • When itís sunny, save further energy by drying your laundry outside on clotheslines.
  • Plant at least five regional trees every year.
